Espo is the adorable webmaster of Fractured-Memories.net and KeyofDestiny.org. Her layouts are really soft and have pretty colors. Her fandoms include Kingdom Hearts, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle, Card Captor Sakura, Doctor Who, Fire Emblem, and Avril Lavigne, among many others. The following is a short interview with her:
How often do you play video games?
Not as often as I’d like, I’d have to admit. I usually play anything on the larger consoles rarely or when I’m not struck down by lots of work, since they usually take a long time to play and I spend hours playing them, since they’re usually full fledged RPG’s, that clock insane amounts of hours. I usually play handhelds, especially my DS, more often though. I’ll probably play it at least twice a week though it depends what I’m playing at the time. If I get stuck, I’m bound to leave it for longer. It all depends, really, but I’d say at least twice a week as a general thing.
What's a typical day (or week if you prefer) for you?
Well, this is bound to change, but right now, my typical day if I’m at college is to get up, attempt to go back to bed (unsuccessfully), go to college, work and stay there for as long as need be, come home, do homework if it cannot be put off for a day or too whilst coming on the computer, and sometimes read books, play video games, watch anime, or any tv shows that I need to catch up on, such as Doctor Who or Ashes to Ashes. If I’m not at college, I tend to lounge around.
Which fictional character(s) do you think you relate to the most, and why?
Who I think I relate to? Hmm... since I was little, I have always been compared to be a complete and utter Hermione Granger, from Harry Potter, at heart; I find guys easier to be friends with, I’m a dedicated worker, and, I’ve always really been able to place myself with her. I also had very similar flyaway hair at the time, as well. More so these days, I like to compare myself to Amu Hinamori from Shugo Chara!, since I think there’s a lot of likeness between us in the self doubt and putting up a front in attempts to fit in, and not having the courage to say who you are. I think that also makes me feel a lot like some other characters, such as Alice Seno from Alice 19th.
I have been known to have a very Roxas-like outset, more so from when he was later in the Organization, so round Kingdom Hearts II time. In some ways I am very much like Kairi from the same game, but not all the time. I have also been described as many different characters as well, by lots of different people.
You're stranded on a deserted tropical island. Which character would you want with you?
That’s a tough one! A lot of characters I am fond of are very quiet or either very loud. Some would never speak to me, which after a while would be boring, and some would never stop talking, which would after a while tire me out. I suppose, if he wasn’t in one of his quiet, seclusive moods, I’d choose the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who, because he has the most fascinating stories to tell about lots of different places if you probed him. But at the same time, I may not. It’s a tricky one.
Are you inspired by any webmasters? If so, who?
I’m inspired by lots of people, and usually, it’s the people I have known since I started who inspire me the most, though a lot of webmasters inspire me now due to the effort and beauty that go into their layouts. Seiyuuki, Crystal, Aya, and Jordy are the people who have inspired me for years, I can safely say. Now, Varen, Yamila, Sarah, Buruma... lots of people inspire me!
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
A night owl. The first thing I want to do in the morning is go back to bed (who designed college to start so early in the morning, anyway...?). I stay up very late though, usually one or two even when I have to be up by seven, but I find it hard to go to sleep at night. I like to stay up late, and then get up late, though never really after 12pm. Really, anything before is an ungodly hour to be awake.
What type of music do you like the most?
Honestly, anything! I’d listen to anything provided I like the lyrics and the beat and the singer’s voice and the backing. I’ll listen to heavy metal or classical and not differentiate. Piano to electric guitars; it doesn’t really matter to me. I usually like artists over genres, I guess, though even artists I do outwardly dislike I tend to find something to like after a while. One genre I do not like is rap, though. It all sounds really repetitive to me.
It's a gloomy rainy day and you're stuck inside. What would you most likely be doing?
What I usually do when it’s a sunny day; by which, I stay inside then, too, haha. Sitting on my computer, reading, playing games, doing homework, or watching something would be a good place to find me.
What's your favorite food? Favorite drink?
My favourite drink is water. That makes me sound mad, but I really do like water; usually something like Vittel. Water is different; each one tastes different to me. I also really like Diet Coke as well, for the fact it’s not sugar ridden, I guess. As for food, anything chocolate would usually cover this, and I have a slight obsession with some mealtime foods, such as chilli and rice.
If you could choose one fictional character to be your One True Love in real life, who would it be and why?
That’s hard. Mostly for the factor that I seem to have shipped them all off into OTP’s; so I can’t really pull them apart without breaking my hard too. But I suppose if that didn’t matter, I still wouldn’t be sure either. I can’t really see myself with any of them. Now, maybe Zack from Final Fantasy VII, though.... hmmm.
